In an effort to offer a chance to deprived children from Child Care Institutions, to showcase their talents and experience joy, ECHO organized a one-day carnival, BAL MELA 2024. The event took place on November 10, 2024 at ECHO Center for Juvenile Justice, Kammanahalli, Bengaluru. The inaugural ceremony scheduled at 10:00am was graced by Shri Uma Shankar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Banaswadi Police Station, East Division, along with Smt. Revathy, Former Member, Child Welfare Committee. The dignitaries encouraged children to participate in activities and expressed their support for the program emphasizing the importance of such initiatives to nurture the potential of young minds.
BAL MELA 2024 brought together 215 children from across Bengaluru district, providing a vibrant platform for them to share their thoughts, dreams and ideas while showcasing their unique talents. The day was filled with fun and engaging games, Martial Art performances, activities at various stalls and opportunities for children to win exciting prizes. It is with the generous support and sponsorship of Hilton Garden Inn, Hiton Bangalore Embassy Golflinks and Hilton Bengaluru Embassy Manyata Business Park, a delicious lunch was provided for all the children to ensure that they were well-nourished and energized to enjoy every moment of the event. Additionally, children also performed in dance competitions, making the event lively and memorable. Bal Mela ended as a celebration of talent and vibrant spirit of children with a motive to empower younger generation from Child Care Institutions.
