ECHO Navodaya is a specialized residential home established in 2014 to support and empower girls from extremely challenging backgrounds. The center was specifically created for girls who come from vulnerable situations, with a particular focus on those whose parents work in the stone quarries, often under harsh and exploitative conditions.
This center is run in collaboration with Stichting Planet Hope, a Netherlands-based organization, and is managed by the Vimala Hridayalaya Sisters at Byrathi Cross. Together, they provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for the girls to heal, grow, and thrive.
The residents of ECHO Navodaya attend St. George CBSE School and Siddhartha Kannada Medium School for their primary and secondary education. Additionally, several of the older girls are currently pursuing their bachelor’s degrees at SSR College, also located in Byrathi.
Through education, care, and emotional support, ECHO Navodaya plays a critical role in breaking the cycle of poverty and hardship, helping these young women move toward a life of dignity, independence, and opportunity.
