Remodelled Special Home

Celebrating twelve years of Managing a Special Home, ECHO inaugurated the ‘Remodelled Special Home’ on December 2, 2023, at Sumanahalli, Bengaluru. This remodelled facility is the only one of its kind in the country, designed for the reformation of Children in conflict with law under the Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act. Hon’ble Justice Smt. KS Mudgal, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, inaugurated the new buildings, including a Training Hall, Guest House for parents, A sales kiosk, and staff quarters. The children’s visible transition was evident through their active participation daily time tabel  and  activities ,during the program. Shri. Sony Kutty George, Specialist Child Protection, UNICEF, provided a brief on the growth of the Summanahalli center in his keynote address. Distinguished guests, including Shri Jaishankar, Member Secretary, KSLSA; Mr. Jacob Kidangath, Senior Vice-President, BGSW; Dr. Jose Murickan, Prelate Norbetine Community; Dr. George Kannanthanam, Director, Summanahalli Society and Smt. Shilpa Deodhar, Head-CSR, BGSW, graced the occasion.
