Traffic Police Assistance Programme (TPAP)

ECHO’s rehabilitation initiative focuses on aiding Children in Conflict with Law (CCL) and Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP), with the goal of empowering them economically and reintegrating them into society. Launched in 2002 under the leadership of Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, IPS, the Traffic Police Assistance Programme (TPAP) stands out as a distinctive rehabilitation effort. It involves training these youths and deploying them at busy intersections to manage traffic flow. ECHO ensures their readiness for employment upon release from juvenile justice facilities to prevent relapse into criminal behavior. Through rigorous instruction in traffic laws and first aid, conducted by traffic police officers, participants transition from lawbreakers to law enforcers. The program’s effectiveness has gained recognition from businesses, institutions, and governmental bodies, validating its ability to change lives and foster societal inclusion.
