Annual Report 2020–2021: Hospitality and Skill development
Our 2020–2021 annual report highlights a transformative year focused on hospitality skill development. Through hands-on training programs, partnerships with industry leaders like BOSCH and CREST Foundation, and community-driven projects, we empowered young people with the tools they need to succeed in the hospitality sector.
Students participated in real-world experiences such as preparing traditional Onam feasts, creating container gardens, and completing the BOSCH-formulated Bridge Course. This 100-hour intensive course helped build both technical and soft skills, everything from body language to guest service etiquette, ensuring our graduates are job-ready and confident.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our programs adapted and thrived, showing resilience, creativity, and commitment to long-term impact. The 2020–2021 report documents not just numbers, but stories. Real lives changed by meaningful opportunities.
We invite you to explore the full report and learn how hospitality skill development is making a difference for today’s youth.
Annual Report 2021–2022: Empowerment Through Education
The ECHO Bangalore Annual Report 2021–22 highlights a pivotal year centered on hospitality training, cultural learning, and sustainable practices. The flagship Hospitality Bridge Course, developed with BOSCH and CREST Foundation, delivered 100 hours of intensive soft skills training, preparing youth for direct job placements in the service industry. A traditional Onam sadya production class deepened culinary expertise while reinforcing cultural identity. Hotel management simulations provided real-world hospitality experience.
Through a unique partnership with Hello Tempayy and Bangalore Food Bank, the organization promoted plant-based nutrition and food access. In addition, a container gardening competition introduced sustainability and ecological awareness. Together, these initiatives strengthened employability, food literacy, and environmental consciousness among underserved youth.
ECHO’s 2021–22 programming reflects its commitment to practical, values-based education that prepares students for work, community engagement, and self-reliance.
Annual Report 2022–2023: Enhancing learning and Livelihood with purpose
The Annual Report 2022–23 showcases ECHO Bangalore’s expanded focus on emotional development, creative learning, and inclusive education. This year, the organization prioritized life skills and emotional literacy through workshops for adolescents covering self-awareness, communication, and empathy. Children participated in storytelling and game-based learning that fostered expression and resilience.
ECHO also established creative learning hubs, offering tutoring and mentorship for vulnerable youth. Community nutrition sessions provided knowledge on hygiene, simple cooking, and wellness, without relying on external food partners. Art-based education through dance, drama, and visual storytelling helped children build confidence and process emotions.
By reinforcing foundational learning and personal growth, ECHO’s 2022–23 programming empowered youth to navigate life with awareness, emotional balance, and a sense of community responsibility.
Annual Report 2022–2023: Strengthening Communities through Opportunity
The Annual Report 2023–24 highlights ECHO Bangalore’s deepening impact in emotional literacy, green skills, and digital education. The year marked the expansion of emotional wellness programs, offering children structured ways to understand and manage feelings through guided mentorship.
ECHO piloted digital learning hubs, giving students access to e-learning tools, apps, and remote guidance. In parallel, eco-literacy initiatives taught composting, seed-saving, and gardening, equipping youth with sustainability skills. Instead of external food programs, the focus shifted to nutrition through local cooking practices, encouraging autonomy and health education.
A key strategic pivot was ECHO’s commitment to community-led leadership, training local facilitators to own and deliver programs. This year’s work reflects a shift toward rooted, scalable, and emotionally intelligent education that prepares youth for real-world challenges while reinforcing social and environmental responsibility.
